Details:
On July 2, 2021, around 4:03 P.M., deputies assigned to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Lake Elsinore Station, responded to a major injury traffic collision on Railroad Canyon Rd. and Country Club Dr., in Canyon Lake. Deputies arrived within minutes and located three vehicles in the roadway. Two drivers were transported to the hospital in critical condition and are currently undergoing surgery. One driver was uninjured in the collision.
Preliminary investigation indicates one of the drivers was driving at a high rate of speed, lost control and collided with another vehicle traveling the opposite direction, head-on, causing a collision with a third vehicle. Drugs appear to be a factor in the collision. The Lake Elsinore Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team is investigating.
