Details:
Members of the Jurupa Valley Station’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) representing the city of Jurupa Valley have been conducting high visibility saturation patrol in the city of Jurupa Valley’s Santa Ana river bottom. The saturation patrol has been organized in direct response to an increase number of calls for service and complaints generated by citizens related to illegal discharge of weapons, off roading, theft, trespassing, narcotics usage, vandalism, illegal food vendors and other quality of life concerns.
On July 16, 2021, at 6:30 PM, members of the Jurupa Valley’s Special Enforcement Team (SET) served a search warrant of a recreational vehicle in the Santa Ana River bottom, in the city of Jurupa Valley. During the service of the search warrant, deputies located two AR-15 rifles, one high capacity AR-15 magazine, approximately 5.5 oz of methamphetamine, 580 rounds of live 223 Cal. ammunition, three gun silencers, $10,752 U.S. currency and additional items indicative with possession for sales of narcotics.
JD DeHaven, a 49-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley, was arrested for being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition. DeHaven was booked into custody at the Robert Presley Detention Center for the following charges:
- Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
- Convicted Felon in Possession of Ammunition.
- Possession of an Illegal Assault Rifle (Ghost gun).
- Possession of a High Capacity Magazine.
- Possession of silencers.
- Possession of narcotics for sales
