On Tuesday, July 20, 2021, about 5:10 P.M., deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, Jurupa Valley Station, responded to the report of a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of Rubidoux Boulevard and Castellano Road, in the city of Jurupa Valley. Deputies arrived on-scene to find two vehicles involved, a grey Ford Ranger pickup truck and a white semi-truck. The driver of the semi-truck suffered minor to moderate injuries and was transported to a local area hospital for medical treatment. The driver of the Ford Ranger pickup truck had suffered life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene by paramedics and Cal Fire personnel.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation. Information obtained during the investigation revealed the Ford Ranger pickup truck was traveling northbound on Rubidoux Boulevard, lost control, collided with a fence, veered onto southbound lane and then collided head-on with a white semi-truck as it traveled southbound on Rubidoux Boulevard.

The identities of the involved parties, including the deceased, will not be released at this time pending further investigation and the notification to the next of kin. It is not known at this time if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision.
