Update:

On August 9, 2021 around 7:40 p.m., deputies from the Major Crimes Unit and Jurupa Valley Special Enforcement Team detained the second suspect in this case, at 42nd St. and Riverview Dr., Jurupa Valley. The second suspect, Allan Melgham Ramirez, 40 years of Jurupa Valley, was arrested and booked into jail for murder.

This investigation is still on-going and no additional information will be released at this time. Update:

On August 7, 2021, around 5:17 p.m., Perris Special Enforcement Team deputies located the suspect vehicle near Cajalco Rd. and Tyler Rd., Mead Valley. The driver, Cesar Verduzco Rojas, 51 years of Mead Valley, was identified as the driver of the suspect vehicle at the time of the shooting. Rojas was arrested and booked into jail for murder.

The victim was identified as Jose Emmanuel Zamora, 24 years of Mead Valley. This investigation is still on-going and no additional information will be released at this time. Details:

On August 6, 2021, at about 4:02 p.m., deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 22800 block of Rios Ave., Mead Valley. Upon arrival, deputies found a male victim inside a vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. Shortly after, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The area was secured as a crime scene and station investigators responded to begin the investigation. The Central Homicide Unit also responded and assumed the investigation.

The victim’s identity will not be released, pending notification to next of kin. The investigation is currently on-going and no further information will be released at this time. If anyone has information regarding this investigation, they are encouraged to call Investigator Stutler at the Perris Sheriff Station at 951-210-1000 or Investigator Robertson with the Central Homicide Unit at 951-955-2777.
