On Thursday, August 12, 2021, at 10:00 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) with the assistance of Riverside County Probation Department, conducted a probation compliance check at a residence located in the 14000 block of Palm Drive in Desert Hot Springs. During the probation check Gang Task Force Officers contacted convicted felon, Brandon Myers, 33 of Desert Hot Springs. Myers was on active county probation. Gang Task Force Officers located two firearms in Myers’ possession including an AR-15 rifle without a serial number, and a loaded .40 caliber semi-auto handgun with an altered serial number. Myers was also found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine, several rounds of ammunition and a replica law enforcement badge. Myers was arrested and charged with multiple felony violations including being a Felon in Possession of Firearms, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Firearms with Narcotics and Violation of Probation. Myers was subsequently transported to John Benoit Detention Center where he was booked.
