On Tuesday, August 3, 2021, deputies from the Perris Station responded to an armed robbery that occurred at a convenience store in the city of Perris. The convenience store was occupied by several patrons and was taken over by the suspects during the robbery. The suspects brandished a black handgun and went behind the counter taking cash from the registers. They left the scene in a blue Nissan sedan. The Perris Detective Bureau Burglary Suppression Team assumed the investigation. Detectives were able to obtain the license plate of the suspect vehicle, a blue 2011 Nissan Versa (6PTD574). Over the course of a week, they were able to identify the two male suspects, Carlos Acuna Rosales (20 years old) and a juvenile (17 years of age).
On August 12, 2021, the investigation led the Perris Detective Bureau Burglary Suppression Team to respond to a business located in the 14000 block of Meridian Parkway, in Riverside. They located the suspect vehicle and the two armed robbery suspects. They were arrested without incident. Later, two residential search warrants were served in the county area of Nuevo and in the city of Perris where they located evidence related to the crime. The juvenile suspect was booked at Southwest Juvenile Hall for Armed Robbery, False Imprisonment, Kidnapping, and Conspiracy. The adult suspect, Carlos Acuna Rosales, was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Armed Robbery, False Imprisonment, Kidnapping, and Conspiracy.
