Details:

On August 8, 2021 an unknown male stole a wallet from a parked vehicle at a Murrieta Walgreens Store. An “Attempt to Identify Flyer” was distributed by the Murrieta Police Department Crime Analyst in hopes of identifying the Murrieta thief. An officer assigned to the Murrieta-Temecula Regional Gang Task Force (GTF) Region 4 took over the investigation. With the assistance of deputies assigned to the Perris-Lake Elsinore Regional GTF Region 6, the alleged thief was identified as 40 year-old Perris resident Paulino Perez. Perez is on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) and is also a documented criminal street gang member.

On August 18, 2021 members of Region 4 GTF conducted a probation search at the suspect’s residence in the 31000 block of Oak Valley Road in the City of Homeland. Perez was arrested at the location.

Task Force officers / deputies located evidence at the residence linking him to the theft. Additional items located at the residence included several grams of methamphetamine, heroin, and a Glock handgun lower receiver. Another unidentified probationer at the residence was also arrested on narcotic related charges. Paulino was booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.
