On April 21, 2021, about 1:47 PM, Lake Elsinore Station Deputies were dispatched to a call of an unresponsive female adult in a vehicle in the 300 block of Railroad Canyon Road, city of Lake Elsinore. Upon deputies arrival, it was determined 28 year old female, Jayde Madden from the city of Murrieta was deceased. Through extensive investigation by investigators from the Special Investigation Bureau as well as the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station, it was determined the decedent was a victim of homicide due to a Fentanyl overdose. The investigation was worked tirelessly over the next few months and a suspect, Stephanie Calo (28) from the city of Menifee, was responsible for selling the Fentanyl that killed the decedent . On August 27, 2021, Calo was located and taken into custody without incident. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Investigator Cook at 951-955-1700. As a reminder, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department wants to remind citizens of the dangers of illicit narcotics many which may contain Fentanyl. Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is 100 times stronger than morphine and can cause death or serious bodily harm.
