On Wednesday, August 25, 2021, about 2:20 AM, deputies from the Perris Station responded to a burglary and vehicle theft that occurred at a business in the 1100 block of G Street in the city of Perris. Deputies and Investigators assigned to the Perris Station Burglary/Robbery Suppression Team assumed the investigation. During the investigation, information was distributed to allied law enforcement agencies regarding a person of interest, Lavelle Davis of Perris. On Tuesday, September 7, 2021, deputies from the Riverside Auto-Theft Interdiction Detail and the Perris Station Special Enforcement Team located Davis during an unrelated investigation. Davis was subsequently interviewed and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for burglary, vehicle theft, and violation of probation.
