On Friday, November 12, 2021, at 11:30 A.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Special Enforcement Bureau conducted a vehicle stop at Los Felices Circle and San Rafael Road in Palm Springs. During the vehicle stop two male juveniles ages 16 and 17 were taken into custody after it was determined they were both in possession of loaded firearms. Both suspects were previously convicted of felonies and both were documented criminal street gang members.

Following the vehicle stop, Gang Task Force Units and Special Enforcement Bureau Units served a search warrant at a residence located in the 66000 block of Two Buch Palms Trail in Desert Hot Springs. During the service of the search warrant Gang Task Force Units located additional evidence related to the investigation.

Further investigation revealed that one of the firearms recovered from the suspects was previously reported stolen.

Both juveniles were taken to Juvenile Hall in Indio and booked on the following charges: Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Concealed Firearm, Possession of a Stolen Firearm.
