On Thursday, February 10, 2022, at 1:00 P.M. the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force conducted a probation compliance check at a residence located in the 65000 block of Dale Kiler Road in the unincorporated community of Mecca. During the compliance check Gang Task Force Officers located a .45 caliber semi-auto handgun and several rounds of ammunition. They arrested convicted felon and documented criminal street gang member, Juan Mulato, 19 of Mecca for Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Ammunition, and Violation of Probation. Mulato was subsequently booked at John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.
