On March 30, 2022, at about 1:16 p.m., deputies from the Southwest Sheriff Station were dispatched to a report of a shooting in a residence in the 44900 block of Camino Alamosa, Temecula. Upon arrival, deputies found a seventeen-year-old juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical personnel arrived and transported the juvenile to a local hospital. The juvenile succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The scene was secured, and an investigation began. Deputies and investigators interviewed witnesses and examined the scene. Based on initial witness statements and evidence at the scene, the Central Homicide Unit was requested and assumed the investigation. The investigation revealed the victim was shot inside the residence by another juvenile, who has been identified. The identities of the victim and suspect will not be released.
