On April 13th, 2022, at 6:30 am, deputies from the Perris Station responded to the 22000 block of Louise Street in Perris to investigate a man down call at a residence. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male, later identified as Ernesto Verduzco Mapula, a 62-year-old resident of Perris, deceased at the scene. Investigators from the Central Homicide Unit and the Perris Station were notified and have assumed the investigation. The suspect(s) fled the area prior to deputies arrival and are currently outstanding. This is an active investigation and is being handled as a homicide.
