On Wednesday, June 8, 2022, at 6:42 pm, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Moreno Valley Station responded to a residence reference an adult male injured as a result of lighting an illegal mortar type firework.
The victim lost several fingers after the firework exploded in his hand. The victim was transported to a local hospital for emergency surgery.
With many families throughout the city expecting to celebrate the upcoming Fourth of July holiday, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Moreno Valley Station reminds the public that using illegal fireworks can cause serious injuries, and all fireworks are illegal in the City of Moreno Valley.
