The victim was identified as Dante Clark, a 9-year-old resident of Palmdale CA.
Details:
On June 26, 2022, about 10:35 AM, deputies received a call of a drowning at Launch Pointe Beach at Lake Elsinore. Deputies arrived on scene about 10:39 AM and contacted the reporting party. Deputies were informed several juveniles were playing near the docks on Launch Pointe Beach when two began having difficulties swimming. One of the juveniles was brought to shore by a bystander, but the other juvenile went under the water. The victim never re-surfaced and several bystanders began to search the water. Deputies were able to establish an area where the victim was last seen.
The Riverside County Sheriffs Department Dive Team responded and started searching the area. The Dive Team was able to locate the victim around 2:37 PM. The Riverside County Coroner’s Office took possession of the victim. The name of the victim is being withheld.
