On Friday, August 5, 2022, about 10:36 PM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to the 5900 block of Troth Street in the city of Jurupa Valley, regarding a cockfighting event. When deputies arrived, they saw approximately 200 subjects attending the event at the location. A large response of Jurupa Valley Station personnel was necessary to disperse the crowd.

They also located an additional 143 caged birds throughout the property. Riverside County Animal Services responded and assumed the investigation. A resident of the property relinquished 143 birds to Riverside County Animal Control officers. Deputies remained on-scene until officers from Riverside County Animal Services gathered and humanely euthanized all of the birds. The resident of the property was cited by Riverside County Animal Control officers for possession of fighting blades used in cockfighting events.
