On August 18, 2022, at 11:37 a.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a reported arson call at a grocery store in the 24500 block of Alessandro Blvd. Upon arrival, deputies saw a subject matching the suspect description fleeing on foot west of the location into a residential neighborhood. A Sheriff’s K-9 and bloodhound responded to assist in the search for the suspect. After an extensive search, the suspect was located in the area and taken into custody without incident.
Raul Bautista, a 31-year-old local transient, was arrested for attempted murder and robbery. He was booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center with a one million dollar bail.
