On November 13th, 2019, at 9:01 p.m., Riverside County Sheriff’s Deputies assigned to the city of Coachella, responded to a report of a restraining order violation in the area of Laguna Lane and Capitola Avenue, in the City of Coachella. The victim stated her husband, Fernando Carrillo, 40 of Coachella, was extremely intoxicated and following her throughout the city against a served restraining order. While investigating the incident, deputies located Carrillo in the area of Avenue 48 and Grapefruit Boulevard, in the city of Coachella. Carrillo failed to yield his vehicle for deputies and a pursuit was initiated due to his suspected alcohol impairment. The pursuit ended in the area of Avenue 49 and Grapefruit Boulevard, when Carrillo collided with an uninvolved motorist. Carrillo was arrested for driving under the influence, evading deputies, and violating the restraining order after he was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
