Update Suspect Located 11-04-2019

During the evening hours of Wednesday, October 30th, the suspect later identified as 36-year-old Aravon McCalla, resident of Santa Monica, was located deceased in the hills east of the 12000 block of Scotch Lane, Loma Linda. McCalla sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Details: 

On Wednesday, October 30, 2019, deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to the 12000 Block of Lee St. in regards to a call of shots fired. Upon their arrival they located a female victim in the driveway of a residence. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station Investigators and the Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. During the course of the investigation it was determined the suspect in the shooting was Aravon McCalla, 36, of Santa Monica. There are no other suspects involved in this homicide and while McCalla is not yet in custody, there is no danger to the public at this time. The victim’s name is being withheld pending notification to the next of kin.
