On Monday, December 2, 2019, at 5:20 PM, The La Quinta Special Enforcement Team responded to a disturbance in the 79100 block of Highway 111, in the city of La Quinta. During the investigation, it was discovered a theft had occurred at a local business. Lena Briseno-Deleon, 27-years-old of Indio, Steven Ponce, 33-years-old of Coachella and Louie Hernandez, 33 of Indio were detained. The primary suspect was not located. During the investigation, Briseno-Deleon was found to be in possession of 14 grams of methamphetamine, a violation of the terms of her probation, and placed under arrest. Ponce was found to be in possession of 98 pills that are a schedule four controlled substance, a violation of the terms of his post community release supervision (PRCS) and placed under arrest. Hernandez had an outstanding warrant for his arrest and was found to be in possession of methamphetamine.  He too was placed under arrest. Briseno-Deleon was booked at the county jail in Indio for possession of methamphetamine with the intent to sale. Ponce was booked at the county jail in Indio for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to sale. Hernandez was booked at the county Jail in Indio for his outstanding warrant.
