On December 9, 2019, at approximately 11:27 P.M., Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputies, assigned to the city of Perris, responded to a report of a hit and run at 1096 Richards Road, in the city of Perris. The victim stated their vehicle had been hit while it was parked in the driveway but the suspect and the vehicle had fled the scene. Responding deputies searched the area and found the suspect’s vehicle. Byron Maquiz of Perris, was arrested for Driving under the Influence, Driving on a Suspended License and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. Maquiz was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department encourages all drivers not to drive while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. To report drunk drivers, please call 911.
