On December 12, 2019, the Perris Station Investigations Bureau completed an on-going credit card fraud investigation involving the use of stolen credit card accounts. The investigation revealed that on October 26th, 27th, and 29th, suspect Ebony Ward, a 31 year-old resident of Temecula, used a stolen card credit account to conduct fraudulent purchases in the cities of Menifee, Lake Elsinore, and Temecula. During the investigation, the lead investigator recognized Ward at the Riverside Courthouse while he prepared to testify in an unrelated fraud case. Ward was arrested without incident and was booked at the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center for identity theft related charges.
