At the beginning of December, deputies assigned to patrol operations at the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station received complaints regarding a possible illegal marijuana dispensary operating within the city of Wildomar, Riverside County. On December 20, 2019, at the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, patrol deputies with the assistance of the Lake Elsinore Problem Oriented Policing Team served a search warrant in the 23000 block of Bundy Canyon Road. Approximately 50 pounds of marijuana, large amounts of U.S. currency, and an illegal AR-15 with altered serial number was located. The suspect, Alfonso Villegas, 25 year old resident of Riverside, was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for possession of assault rifle, possession of assault rifle with altered serial numbers, and possession of marijuana for sales.
