On January 6, 2020 at approximately 4:25 A.M., a Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Deputy, assigned to the city of Perris, observed two vehicles involved in suspicious activity at a car wash located at the intersection of Perris Boulevard and Orange Avenue. The deputy contacted the occupants of the vehicle and detained them.

The deputy’s investigation led to the discovery of 7 ounces of methamphetamine, cash, three guns and ammunition. One of the weapons was an AR-15 “Ghost” weapon that did not have a serial number. One of the handguns was stolen from a residence in Moreno Valley. Deputies arrested Jose Lopez, age 34 and Irene Gutierrez, age 43 both of Moreno Valley. The subjects were booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.
