On Thursday, January 9, 2020, about 1:26 AM, deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station responded to a report of a traffic collision involving 4 vehicles and a flatbed trailer, on Van Buren Blvd. cross of Studio Place, Jurupa Valley.
Upon arrival, deputies located a male adult with major injuries. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene; he was the sole occupant of the vehicle. Two of the drivers stayed on scene and cooperated with the investigation; they were also single occupants in their respective vehicles and were uninjured. The fourth driver fled the scene, leaving the flatbed trailer behind, which had come detached prior to the initial collision. The Jurupa Valley Station’s Traffic Reconstruction Team is conducting a full investigation to determine the cause of the collision and if alcohol/drugs were a factor during this fatal traffic collision.
