On Thursday, January 9, 2020, approximately 9:50 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station observed a vehicle parked near the intersection of Rostrata Street and Tereticornis Avenue. The vehicle entered the roadway and driver displayed erratic driving actions consistent with driving under the influence. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, but the driver failed to stop the vehicle. A vehicle pursuit led to a foot pursuit through a residential area. With the assistance of the Sheriff’s K-9 Team and the Aviation Unit, the suspect was taken into custody. 

The suspect was identified as Dennis Morales (30 years old residing in Lake Elsinore) who is currently on parole. A stolen firearm and narcotics were located in Morales’ vehicle. Morales was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Driving under the Influence, Evading, Possession of Narcotics, Felon in Possession of a firearm and Violation of Parole.
