On January 13, 2020 about 9:00 p.m., deputies responded to a trespassing call in the 33000 block, of Windmill Road, in the city of Wildomar, where subjects were reported to be armed in the backyard. Deputies arrived and contacted Chris Raus, 28-year-old resident of Wildomar, Deputies did not locate any other subjects in the area.
During the investigation, Raus displayed symptoms of being under the influence of a controlled substance and was found to be in possession of a prohibited weapon. Deputies obtained consent to search Raus’ residence and located two pistols with no serial numbers, an assault rifle, high capacity magazines, and suspected methamphetamine. Raus was arrested for 11370.1(a) H&S, 11377(a) H&S, 11550(a) H&S and booked into Cois Byrd Detention Center.
