On Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at 5:19 AM, Deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff Department, responded the 30th block of Mirage Cove Drive., Rancho Mirage regarding a home invasion robbery. The suspect, later identified as Angel Garcia, 35 of Cathedral City, entered the residence and was involved in physical altercation with the homeowner.  Garcia fled the residence on foot.  Palm Desert Station Burglary Suppression Unit (BSU) responded and assumed the investigation. 

During the investigation, BSU with the assistance of the Rancho Mirage Special Enforcement Team (SET) learned of Garcia’s possible location. At 12:23 PM, located and contacted Garcia in the desert area near Highway 111 southeast of Date Palm Drive, Cathedral City.  After a short foot pursuit, BSU/Rancho Mirage SET apprehended and arrested Garcia without incident.  Garcia is also a suspect on three additional residential burglaries that occurred in the city of Rancho Mirage. Garcia was transported to the county jail in Banning for Home Invasion, Assault w/ A Deadly Weapon, Conspiracy, and Violation of Probation.
