On Wednesday, January 22nd, 2020 at 12:34 pm, deputies from the Palm Desert Sheriff’s Station responded to a robbery at Pawnshield Fine Jewelry and Loan, located in the 74-800 block of Technology Dr., Palm Desert. A female entered the business and pepper sprayed the store clerk and fled with jewelry. As the deputies were responding, the suspect vehicle was located fleeing the scene of the robbery. A traffic enforcement stop was initiated by deputies and two subjects were detained, which were later positively identified by the victim.

The Palm Desert Business District Team assumed the investigation and the suspects’ vehicle was impounded and a search warrant was authored to search the contents of the vehicle, where the pepper spray used in the robbery and the jewelry taken were recovered. Jennifer Andrews, 36 of Yucaipa, and Richard Gonzales, 28 of San Bernardino, were booked at the Riverside County Jail in Indio for robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime.
