On Saturday, March 21, 2020, at 7:58 AM, deputies from the Perris Station responded to a call of a shooting in the 100 block of Commerce Drive in the city of Perris. When deputies arrived, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound, who ultimately died at the scene.
Investigators from the Perris Station and Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. The deceased male was identified as 24-year-old Edward Pirtle of Moreno Valley. The investigation revealed 28-year-old, Juan Alberto Bucaro of Perris, was responsible for the homicide. This incident was not related to any criminal street gang activity. Bucaro was eventually located and arrested.
