Details:

On January 6, 2021, at 6:00 A.M., deputies assigned to the Coachella Community Action Team (CCAT), with the assistance of the Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force (CVVCGTF) and Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Special Weapons And Tactics (SWAT), served a search warrant at two residences  in the 52100 block of Nelson Street and the 52200 block of Cypress Street in the city of Coachella. The search warrant stemmed from two separate shooting incidents which occurred on December 26, 2020 in the city of Coachella. During the initial incident two suspects were apprehended who were identified as Francisco Villanueva, 18 y/o of Coachella, and a 17 y/o male juvenile of Coachella. Francisco Villanueva was booked at the John Benoit Detention Center (JBDC) for attempt homicide and conspiracy to commit attempt homicide. The male juvenile was booked at the Indio Juvenile Hall for attempt homicide and conspiracy to commit attempt homicide.

During the search warrant service, the two outstanding suspects were apprehended and identified as Angel Ramirez, 18 y/o of Coachella, and Obaje McCallister Carrillo, 18 y/o of Coachella. Both Angel Ramirez and Obaje McCallister Carrillo were booked at JBDC for attempt homicide and conspiracy to commit attempt homicide. All four suspects are also facing charges of committing a crime while participating in a criminal street gang.
