Details:

On Monday, September 20, 2021, about 6:31 P.M., deputies responded to the report of a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of Goodman Way and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road. When Cal Fire personnel arrived on scene, they located a Hispanic male adult who had been struck by a vehicle. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver and passenger were transported to a local hospital and treated for their injuries. The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the location and assumed the investigation.

Preliminary investigation indicated the driver was traveling through the parking lot and suffered a medical emergency. The driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with a metal gate and struck the decedent who was walking through the parking lot. At this time, it remains unknown if alcohol and/or drugs were a factor in the collision. The identity of the decedent is pending identification from the Coroner’s Bureau. Amazon parking lot was closed for the duration of the investigation.
