On Monday, August 15, 2022, at 7:30 AM, Jurupa Valley Station deputies responded to the 2000 block of Gail Drive regarding an incident of domestic violence. When deputies arrived, they located a female victim bleeding heavily from injuries to her head, face, and neck. The victim had been assaulted by the father of her children, Ramirez Armando Alvarado, a 42-year-old resident of Jurupa Valley, after a verbal argument. Alvarado struck the victim with a metal object multiple times causing significant injuries. Alvarado fled the scene with their 1-year-old child in a silver Dodge Caravan. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Alvarado had previously threatened to deprive the victim of custody of their 1-year-old child. Based on the information received by deputies, it was believed the child was in danger. An Amber Alert was issued. Approximately one hour later, a citizen recognized Alvarado from the Amber Alert and reported Alvarado' location to law enforcement. Perris Station deputies responded to the 22000 block of Ramona Avenue in Nuevo. They located Alvarado and the 1-year-old child. Alvarado was taken into custody for attempted murder and domestic violence. The child was unharmed.
