On January 15, 2024, at 10:35 pm, deputies assigned to the Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a major-injury traffic collision on Etiwanda Avenue and Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road. Deputies located a single-vehicle collision and pronounced the driver, and sole occupant, deceased at the scene.

The Jurupa Valley Sheriff’s Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation, which is ongoing. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, and it is unknown if alcohol and/or drugs played a role in this incident. The victim’s name is being withheld pending next of kin notification.

The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Etiwanda Avenue, between Harrell Street to Cantu-Galleano Ranch Road, in order to process the scene and collect evidence.
