On 12-07-2019 at 02:16 AM, deputies assigned to the city of Jurupa Valley responded to a solo vehicle traffic collision at 9855 Mission Blvd. (Magic Cuts). The driver was traveling northbound Mission Blvd. when he began swerving across all lanes to include oncoming traffic. Based on his level of impairment, he lost control and crashed into the front of the closed business causing significant damage to his vehicle and structural damage to the business. 

The suspect male DUI driver, Cosme Ibarra-Salazar 26-year-old Jurupa Valley resident, was transported to a local area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was arrested and released at the hospital for medical treatment. A misdemeanor DUI charge is pending once medical treatment is complete. 

Deputies from the Jurupa Valley Station are asking for your help.  Anyone who witnessed either of these collisions or has information that may be helpful to these investigations, is encouraged to contact Deputy Powell #5447 at (951) 955-2600.

The Jurupa Valley Station would like to take this opportunity to remind drivers contemplating driving impaired, if arrested, to expect fines and fees in excess of $13,500.  This includes court-imposed fines, fees, DUI classes, license suspension, and other related expenses.  Those who injure another party while driving impaired may face felony DUI charges and additional fines and fees. Those who kill another person while driving impaired may face murder charges.   In addition to criminal sanctions, DUI drivers may also be subject to civil liability if their actions result in property damage, injury or death.
