On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 9:39 p.m., deputies from the Perris Sheriff’s Station responded to Stoneybrook Way x Wildwood Lane in Perris regarding a carjacking. The victim told deputies three suspects took his vehicle at knifepoint after he came to the location to meet one of the suspects. While the victim was in his vehicle parked on Wildwood Lane, the suspect and two other unknown suspects entered the victim’s vehicle. They pointed knives at the victim, demanding his wallet and cell phone. The victim was forced from his vehicle, and all three suspects fled the area in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle was later located unoccupied in the area of Orange Avenue and Foothill Avenue in Perris.
The Perris Sheriff’s Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) assumed the investigation and obtained information that led to the identification of the main suspect, Martin Plascencia, an 18-year-old resident of Perris. On Thursday, February 29, 2024, about 11:30 a.m., Perris RBST and the Perris City Special Enforcement Team located Plascencia at a residence in the 500 Block of Wildwood Lane, Perris. RBST authored a search warrant for two different residences on Wildwood Lane, where they located evidence connecting Plascencia to the carjacking. Plascencia was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for Robbery and Carjacking. This investigation is ongoing, including efforts to identify the other two suspects.
