Moreno Valley, Calif.—The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Moreno Valley Station, conducted a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) / Driver’s License checkpoint on Friday, April 19, 2024. The checkpoint was on Alessandro Boulevard and Alessandro Plaza, between the hours of 8:00 PM and 2:00 AM. The checkpoint yielded the following results:
- 605 vehicles screened.
- 4 Field Sobriety Tests (FSTs) conducted.
- 4 arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.
- 3 arrested for miscellaneous misdemeanors.
- 1 arrested for an outstanding federal warrant for probation violation.
- 4 arrested for driving with a suspended driver’s license.
- 16 citations issued for driving without a driver’s license.
- 1 citation issued for driving with an expired license.
- 6 vehicles were stored or impounded.
- 1 citation issued for various traffic violations.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on reported incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off roads.

Moreno Valley, Calif. – On April 19, 2024, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Moreno Valley Station will conduct a driving under the influence (DUI) Checkpoint from 8:00 P.M. to 2:00 A.M. at an undisclosed location.
DUI checkpoint locations are determined based on data showing incidents of impaired driving-related crashes. The primary purpose of DUI checkpoints is to promote public safety by taking suspected impaired drivers off the road.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” Deputy Kevin Seguin said. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improves traffic safety.”
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office - Moreno Valley, reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol. Some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. While medicinal and recreational marijuana are legal, driving under the influence of marijuana is illegal.
Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
