On Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at 8:53 P.M., deputies from the Perris Station responded to the report of a Suspicious Circumstance at the 1200 block of Burton Road, in the City of Perris. The deputies arrived and learned a 14 year old female victim was sexually assaulted inside the public restroom at the location by a male suspect. The suspect fled the scene in a vehicle prior to the deputy’s arrival.

Deputies obtained the suspect’s license plate and responded to his residence located at the 22000 block of Hayes Street, in the county area known as Good Hope. Deputies located and detained the suspect, Matthew Lamantain-Leatherman, who was later positively identified by the victim. The suspect was arrested and booked into jail.
