Upon arrival, deputies located a 22-year-old male suffering from non-life threatening injuries. The victim was working as a security officer, when he attempted to stop a suspect identified as Davion Stewart, a 31-year-old resident of Moreno Valley, for stealing shoes from the business. While trying to detain Stewart, a struggle ensued and the victim was stabbed with a knife. The victim was able to pepper spray Stewart in the face before he left the location on his bicycle. The victim was transported to a local hospital to be treated for his injuries.
