Reporting Deputy: Sergeant Alfredo Medina

File # MV231730022

Details:

On June 22, 2023, at approximately 2:07 a.m., deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a park in the 23000 block of Presidio Hills Drive for a report of a carjacking. The victim reported meeting with a female juvenile whom he knew at the park in the city of Moreno Valley. While both were in the back seat of the victim’s vehicle, one black male, wearing a black mask, opened the rear passenger door and another black male, also wearing a black mask, opened the rear driver’s side door, both armed with handguns. The guns were pointed at the victim, and he was ordered to exit the vehicle. The two black males and the female drove away in the victim’s vehicle. The female, according to the victim, did not cry for help or appeared to be under duress. The vehicle was entered into the system as stolen, and approximately two hours later, Riverside Police Department located the stolen vehicle and attempted to stop it. The vehicle failed to yield, and a pursuit was initiated by RPD. The vehicle was involved in a car accident at the intersection of Kansas Avenue and Third Street, in the city of Riverside. Four juveniles, three males and a female, whom the victim identified as the female he met, were in the vehicle. Also in the vehicle was a black toy pistol, and one black 9mm pistol, matching the descriptions given by the victim, and two black masks. The juveniles were arrested and transported to a local hospital for a medical evaluation. When medically cleared, they were transported and booked into juvenile hall.
