On Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at 3:45 PM, deputies from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, Perris Station, responded to a major injury traffic collision near the intersection of N. Perris Boulevard and Perry Street in the City of Perris. Deputies arrived within minutes and located the collision involving a blue Kia Optima and a brown Kia Soul. The driver of the Kia Optima was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Kia Soul was transported to a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries. The Perris Station Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. It remains unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision. The investigation is ongoing.
Both directions of N. Perris Boulevard from Perry Street to Ramona Expressway were closed for the duration of the investigation.
