On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 4:19 a.m., Perris Sheriff’s Station deputies responded to the 400 block of East 4th Street, in the city of Perris, regarding a burglary in progress. When deputies arrived, they located evidence of a burglary and numerous cell phones stolen.
With the assistance of the security monitoring company, deputies responded to the 3000 block of Case Road, Perris, where they located Benjamin Rodriguez, a 27-year-old resident of Riverside, near his vehicle. Further investigation revealed that Rodriguez was involved in the burglary and possessed a stolen cell phone. The Perris Station Robbery Burglary Suppression Team (RBST) was notified and assumed the investigation. A search warrant was authored for Rodriguez’s vehicle, and the following items were recovered: 56 stolen cell phones, 11 security surveillance cameras, and numerous other items that belonged to the business. The items located were valued at over $24,000.00. Rodriguez was arrested and booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for burglary.
