On Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 6:50 p.m., deputies from the Riverside Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station, responded to the intersection of Eucalyptus Avenue and Sweetspice Street, Moreno Valley, reference a single-vehicle traffic collision. Deputies arrived on scene and located a Nissan Altima which collided into a power pole. Paramedics from Cal Fire also arrived on the scene and attempted live-saving measures, but ultimately pronounced the driver deceased.
Preliminary investigation revealed the Nissan Altima was traveling westbound on Eucalyptus Avenue when it lost control and collided with a power pole.
The identity of the deceased will not be released pending notification to the next of kin. A temporary road closure of Eucalyptus Avenue between Kitching Street and Raenette Way was required to process the scene and collect evidence.
