Details:

On Saturday, January 13, 2024, between 10:30 a.m., and 8:00 p.m., deputies assigned to the Perris Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Teams conducted an Off-Highway Vehicle (OHV) Enforcement Operation within the city of Perris and the community of Mead Valley. During the operation, deputies utilized the Sheriff’s Office OHV and contacted several riders who were riding in the hills. During their contacts, deputies educated the riders about illegal off-roading and provided them with information for areas designated for legal use of OHV. Additionally, during the operations, deputies contacted five subjects who were riding their OHVs illegally on public streets and towed four of them for violating the California Vehicle Code.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office and the city of Perris are dedicated to the safety of everyone including community members driving on/off the streets. Additionally, we would like to remind our community members that operating an OHV on public street is not only illegal but it can also be dangerous. Please visit https://www.fs.usda.gov/ivm/  or http://ohv.parks.ca.gov/ for legal off-road locations.

For additional information regarding OHV, please contact the Perris Sheriff’s Station at 951-210-1000
