On Thursday, February 15, 2024, the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team (SET) began investigating complaints of criminal activity at various Lake Elsinore City parks. SET identified numerous quality-of-life concerns in connection with the criminal activity. During the investigation, numerous individuals were contacted for Health and Safety Code violations or marijuana/alcohol consumption in a public park. These individuals were held accountable for their actions by means of an arrest or citation.
The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station is committed to public safety in the city parks and strives to make the community safer for all citizens and community members. The Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station currently has a dedicated Community Services deputy whose primary goal is to ensure the City Parks are a safe place for the community to enjoy.
As a reminder, "Community Policing" involves partnerships between law enforcement and community members. Business owners and residents are encouraged to report criminal activity directly to law enforcement by calling Sheriff's Dispatch at (951) 776-1099, or by calling 911 if the matter is an emergency.
