On Thursday, February 22, 2024, at 7:41 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to the 32000 block of Mission Trail in the city of Lake Elsinore regarding the theft of an E-bicycle. Upon arrival, deputies discovered the E-bike (valued at over $4000) had been left in a bike rack and was stolen by an unknown suspect. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Cory Brooks, a 47-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore. Deputies located Brooks, and through further investigation, they recovered the stolen E-bike and returned it to its rightful owner. Brooks was transported to Cois Byrd Detention Center and booked for grand theft.
