On July 29, 2020, deputies assigned to the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station Problem Oriented Policing Team received information regarding a possible illegal outdoor marijuana cultivation occurring in the city of Lake Elsinore, county of Riverside. Deputies were advised of an odor of marijuana coming from a greenhouse type structure at the rear of the property. After further investigation it was believed there was an illegal marijuana cultivation site at the location.
On July 31, 2020, at the direction of Sheriff Chad Bianco, deputies served a search warrant at a residence in the 18000 block of Cambern Avenue, city of Lake Elsinore, county of Riverside. Located on the property was a large greenhouse structure which was used as an illegal marijuana cultivation site. Approximately 400 marijuana plants in various stages of growth were located inside the greenhouse. Alejandro Franco Rivas, age 29, of Perris, was running the illegal marijuana grow and was taken into custody. Alejandro was booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for illegal marijuana cultivation.
